CLUB RULES

 1. That this Club be called "The Cryptics Cricket Club".

2. That the colours of the Club be: dark blue; green; purple; light blue.

3. That the affairs of the Club be managed by a Committee, consisting of the President, the Hon. Treasurer, the Hon. Secretaries, 9 elected members and not more than 2 co-opted members. Further to this:

a. The President shall be elected at a General Meeting, to hold office for five years, and shall not be eligible for re-election during the ensuing five years.

b. The Hon. Treasurer and the Hon. Secretaries shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting and shall be eligible for re-election from year to year. Of the other elected members of the Committee, one third shall retire every year by rotation and shall not be eligible for re-election during the ensuing year.

c. Co-opted members shall retire at each Annual General Meeting and shall be eligible for co-option during the ensuing year.

d. Vice-Presidents may be elected by the members at any General Meeting. Vice-Presidents may attend but shall not be entitled to vote at Committee Meetings, unless they are members of the Committee in another capacity.

4. That the Committee may call a Special General Meeting on giving 14 days notice, specifying the business to be transacted, and the discussion shall be confined to the business and amendments connected therewith.
The Committee shall be bound to call a Special General Meeting on receiving a written requisition signed by 15 members of the Club.

5. That an Annual General Meeting be held not later than the 31st day of August in each year.

6. That the election of the Committee shall take place in the following manner: any two members of the Club shall be at liberty to nominate a member to serve on the committee, having previously received the assent of that member. The name of each member so nominated shall be sent in writing to the Hon. Gen. Secretary not less than 14 days before the date set for the Annual General Meeting, and the election shall take place at the Annual General Meeting by a show of hands or, failing a decisive outcome of the show of hands, by ballot. The Committee shall be empowered to fill any vacancy that may occur among its members during the year, subject to confirmation by the next General Meeting.

7. That the quorum for any and every meeting of the Committee shall be four.

8. That a candidate for membership shall be proposed by a Member of the Club, and seconded by another Member of the Club, and be elected at a Committee Meeting.

9. That there shall be the following categories of Membership: Full Playing; Student Playing; Honorary; and Associate.

a. Full Playing Membership shall entitle members to represent the Club, wear the Club Colours, attend and vote at General Meetings, attend Club functions and receive all general Club literature.

b. Student Playing Membership is available to young members in full time education up to first degree level and offers the same privileges as Full Playing Membership. Schoolboys in this category shall pay no Joining Fee and shall not be required to pay a subscription until the year after leaving school. All Student members shall be entitled to pay reduced Match Fees.

c. Honorary Membership may be granted at the discretion of the Committee to individuals who have contributed in a major tangible way to the success of the Club. Honorary Members are afforded the same privileges as Full Playing Members.

d. Associate Membership is available at reduced subscription rates to social acquaintances and members who have retired from active cricket, but who wish to maintain contact with the Club. Associate members are entitled to wear the Club colours, attend Club functions, and receive selective Club literature. Associate members are not entitled to represent the Club, except in emergencies, but those who have previously been Full Playing members shall be eligible for re-election to Full Membership at the current rate of subscription without payment of any Joining Fee.

10. That candidates for Full or Student Playing Membership shall normally be required to play two matches for the Club before election. However, in exceptional circumstances, the Committee shall have discretion to elect candidates of high calibre and proven ability who do not satisfy this requirement.

11. That all Members on election shall pay a Joining Fee and an Annual Subscription. The amounts payable in each respect shall be fixed periodically by the Members at a General Meeting. The Joining Fee and first Annual Subscription shall be payable by new Members immediately on receipt of the notification of election. All other Annual Subscriptions shall become due on the first day of January of each year. If a Member's subscription be not paid by the first day of April, the Committee shall send him a notice of the fact, and if after such notice being given his subscription be not paid by the last day of May, the Committee shall strike his name off the list of members.

12. That the Committee shall have authority to arrange matches, appoint a Manager for each match, and to set the Match Fees for each match.

13. That in the event of the Committee considering the conduct of any Member to be detrimental to the interests of the Club, it shall have power to call upon him to resign and, if he declines to do so and offers no satisfactory explanation, they shall have power to expel him from the Club.

14. That the Rules of the Club be altered or varied only at a General Meeting, either Special or Ordinary; and that the proposed alterations be fully specified in the notice calling the Meeting; and that they shall only be binding in the event of their being adopted by two thirds of the Members present and voting.
